If love is only as pure as the giver,
then God’s love
must surely be
the purest love of all.
Shining like a beacon,
it cuts through the darkness
illuminating our path
and showing us the way home.
Unconditional, freely given,
it shines on every being,
even those whom we would call
the most undeserving.
It cannot be earned,
nor bought,
nor sold,
at any price.
But, like sunlight on
the mirrored surface
of lake waters
undisturbed,
It can be freely reflected
by all those
who have felt
its wondrous touch.
